Mark Moritz proposes a redesign of the cultural anthropology course, based on online materials from Michael Wesch. Moritz aims to turn the course into a learning experience that takes students out of the classroom and into the real world via a collection of open podcasts, videos, and text.

Racial Justice Grant
Dr. Moritz will expand on the curriculum on race and racism already taught in four introductory Anthropology courses, while developing an overarching framework to provide a comprehensive approach across subfields. He will also develop workshops for graduate teaching assistants, to better prepare them to teach these topics.
The Department of Anthropology recently changed the course Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (ANTHROP 2202), which has been taught for almost as long as the department has been around, by no longer requiring a traditional experience of buying a textbook or taking exams.
