Copyright Basics

The purpose of copyright is to promote the public good by encouraging the creation of new works. While digital technology has made some aspects of copyright more confusing, knowing the basics can help you use material legally and protect your own creative works. This interactive book includes examples, activities and self-quizzes to reinforce core concepts and help you apply them. This book was developed as a collaboration between the Ohio State University Libraries’ Office of Teaching and Learning and Copyright Resources Center.
