Plan for Opportunity: Regional Sustainability Plan for the Mississippi Gulf Coast

The Plan for Opportunity is an interactive, multi-touch plan that is a collaborative effort on the part of the Gulf Regional Planning Commission, Gulf Coast Community Design Studio, Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation, Mississippi Center for Justice, Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District, the Steps Coalition, Criterion Planners, the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity and the Ohio State University. The Plan for Opportunity was a three year undertaking beginning in 2011 that brought together more than 100 organizations and thousands of individuals in a collaborative planning process. This work was funded by a Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This plan considers the future of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the opportunities for a more livable, sustainable future.
